Law enforcement officers are challenged to collect a large amount of data in a variety of environments. Whether patrolphoto_safety.jpgofficers are completing forms to document accidents or detectives are collecting evidence like digital photos and witness statements at a crime scene, the Tablet Computer is a versatile tool that simplifies the process. Forms which needed to be completed by hand at the scene and later transcribed to an electronic document for local, state and federal reporting can now be completed on scene in one step, reducing time and increasing accuracy.

Inspections, fireground investigations and training are just three areas where the combination of natural handwriting and electronic forms can use the unique capabilities of the Tablet Computer. Software solutions used to meet the requirements of the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS), including Firehouse Software, run great on the tablet which allows data to be entered and accessed from anywhere at anytime. Mapping software and a Global Positioning device add even more functionality.

EMS
EMTs and paramedics are required to record patient information regarding medical history, current medications, allergies and vital signs for an electronic medical record as well as sharing with the receiving facility and billing office. Using the Tablet Computer, medics use the pen to complete forms, handwrite subjective notes and collect signatures on Patient Refusal and Privacy Notice documents. Having access to data from previous encounters with the same patient while at their bedside improves care and allows for more appropriate treatment.
