Lenevo Since taking over the ThinkPad notebook line from IBM, Lenovo has continued to set the standard for well priced convertible Tablet PCs.  They have combined the latest available features like solid state drives and broadband wireless into various bundles that are only slightly more expensive than traditional laptops.

Lenovo has also been a leader in offering a variety of displays.  Their current X200 Tablet PC model offers three main screen choices.  The most basic display is a WXGA panel with a resolution of 1280x800 and 190 nits of brightness.  Next is the same screen with the added feature of an LED backlight which brings the measured brightness to 285 nits.  The third choice is the MultiView/MultiTouch screen that allows you to operate the tablet pc using the digitizer pen or your finger.  This display has a 230 nit brightness factor and is also quite good for outdoor viewing.  All the displays are wide viewing angle.  This means that even when viewed while flat on a desk (up to a 170 degree angle) they are still easily readable.  All the screens come with an anti-glare coating.  The monitor is supported by an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator and can support an external monitor at up to 2048x1536 resolution when using a VGA connector.

X200-tablet-series-266x250.jpgThe X200 Tablet by Lenovo is also one of the thinnest, lightest weight convertible tablet PCs in the marketplace.  The tablet is less than 1.5” thick and with the 4-cell battery weighs in at 3.5 pounds.  With the 8-cell battery, the X200 Tablet weight 3.88 pounds and gets 5-6 hours of battery life.  The 8-cell battery is a great accessory and provides a nice grip when holding the tablet in slate mode.

Lenovo offers a wide variety of hard drive options up to 160Gb and 7200rpm which is the fastest speed for a notebook hard drive.  They also offer a 128Gb SSD (solid state drive).

When purchasing a Lenovo X200 Tablet PC, you can build your own by choosing each component or select one of the Lenovo TopSeller bundles.  These TopSeller bundles are very well priced and can offer discounts of over $900 versus doing a Build To Order model.  One of the best examples is 7449-EKU which is the most complete bundle that we have seen.  Here is what is included:
